Bimal Paudel is a Post-Doc fellow in Jackson lab at University of Maryland School of Medicine since January 2021.Currently, his research focuses on organelle specific targets of Enterovirus infections. Before joining the Jackson lab, Bimal was working as a Microbiologist at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center, Unity Point Health, Iowa from Feb 2019 to Nov 2020. Bimal started his career in science as a middle school Science/Math teacher after his undergraduate degree in Microbiology. He worked as a middle school teacher for a year. During his MSc at Tribhuvan University, Bimal worked as a Research Assistant at National Public Health Laboratory of Nepal from Jan 2009 to Jan 2010. After graduation with MSc, Bimal worked as an Instructor at Kantipur College of Medical Science in Kathmandu, teaching Microbiology and Molecular Biology to undergraduate students. In Feb 2012, Bimal again joined National Public Health Laboratory of Nepal as a Microbiologist and laboratory focal person of National surveillance of Measles, Rubella, Polio, Japanese Encephalitis, and Dengue. During this assignment, Bimal worked with diverse team of disease surveillance and immunization in collaboration with Government of Nepal and World Health Organization. In Aug 2013, Bimal left his job at National Public Health Laboratory of Nepal to start his PhD journey at South Dakota State University, USA.
